Doris Hauser

Doris Elizabeth Stimson Hauser, 98, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 9, 2017. She was born in Forsyth County on March 28, 1919 to the late Roy Edwin and Grace Yarborough Stimson. Mrs. Hauser lived her entire life in Lewisville and at the same house since 1923. She graduated from Lewisville High School in 1936 and later attended Elon College. She taught piano at Farmington, Vienna, and Lewisville Elementary Schools and also taught students in her home for over 60 years. She once was a member at Lewisville United Methodist Church and was a current member of Concord United Methodist Church. She was known by her family as "Mom" and to her friends as "Dar." She was preceded in death by the love of her life of 61 years, Wilbur Woodrow Hauser; her twin sister, Dorsey Trivette and sister, Robah Grace Rock. Surviving are two sons, Dr. Edd Hauser (Julia) of Raleigh and Michael Francis Hauser (Susan) of Thomasville; seven grandchildren, Dr. Michael Hauser (Lisa), Dr. Justin Hauser (Joanna), Kimberly Bennett (Stan), Jason Hauser, Dr. Zachary Hauser (Sheena), Jessica Hauser Craig (Ryan), and Elizabeth Hauser; also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel with Rev. Michael Flack officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Concord United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross of Western North Carolina, 2425 Park Road Charlotte, NC 28203.
