Doris Evelyn Henderson Hamby

Mrs. Doris Evelyn Henderson Hamby, 80, passed away March 16, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Forsyth County to the late Charles Adam and Lillie Belle Smith Henderson. She was of the Baptist faith and was very active as owner of Hamby's Painting and Decorating for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Sydney Hamby and her son, Lennie Gray Greer. Mrs. Hamby is survived by two daughters, Dollie G. Greer of Winston-Salem and Mitzi G. Tesh of Arcadia; two sons, Donny Greer and wife Kathy of Lewisville and Ricky Greer and wife Vivian of Winston-Salem; 18 Grandchildren; 32 Great-Grandchildren and a sister, Sylvia Deal of Winston-Salem. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, March 20, 2009 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
