GENTRY Mrs. Doris Frances Everhart Gentry, 91, of Stoneville passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County. She was born June 10, 1919 in Davidson County to Lemuel Henderson Everhart and Lula Lee Ingram Everhart. Mrs. Gentry attended Stoneville Christian Church in Stoneville and was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. She lived most of her life in Winston-Salem before moving to Stoneville in 1994. She loved working in her vegetable garden and her flower garden. She also enjoyed feeding her birds. She was foremost a loving grandmother and great grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William David Gentry who died October 12, 1993; two brothers, Casper Franklin Everhart and Garland ""Jake"" Henderson Everhart; and a sister, Helen Geneva Everhart. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Lester Walker of Stoneville, and Brenda and David Shouse of Winston-Salem; granddaughters and spouses, Lisa and Kevin Snyder of Stoneville, and Patti and Maurice Windham of Charleston, SC; a grandson, David ""Eddie"" Shouse of Las Vegas, NV; great grandchildren, Kasey and Preston Snyder of Stoneville, Alex, Jacob and Emily Windham of Charleston, SC; numerous nieces and nephews; and her furry friends, Baby the cat and Lucky the dog. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 16 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. George ""Buddy"" Self officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 15 at the funeral home.
