Doris Bovender Foreman

Mrs. Doris Bovender Foreman, age 87, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born January 29, 1924 to Luther G. and Carrie Logan Bovender. She was a member of Griffith Baptist Church for many years. She retired from RJR Tobacco Company with 25 years of service. Mrs. Foreman was preceded in death by her parents; husband Hampton Henry ""H.H."" Foreman; brothers James G. Bovender, Luther G. Bovender, Jr., Jack O. Bovender, and a sister June B. Lanier. She is survived by her son Jim Foreman (Debbie) of Winston-Salem, a granddaughter Heather F. Portaro (Jeff) of Monroe, NC, and great granddaughter Alaina Portaro of Monroe, NC; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a very dear and special nephew Jack O. Bovender, Jr. (Barbara) of Nashville, TN; and special friends, Ike and Faye Moser and Mickey Faucett. A funeral service will be held Friday, September 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM, at Griffith Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to Kate B.
