Ms. Doris Anderson Bean, 85, of Trinity, NC, formerly of Winston Salem and Galax, VA passed peacefully at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington bathed in the warmth of Jesus while the snow peacefully fell outside. Doris was born June 23, 1936 in Forsyth County, the daughter of Glen E. Anderson and Mary Ellen F. Anderson. She was the oldest of eight children and loved each of her siblings like they were her own. Doris loved Jesus and shared her love of Christ through her service. She loved singing in the choir, playing piano and baking and cooking for her congregation. If you were fortunate enough to share a meal with her, she always blessed the food and your stomach. Doris was a skillful dress maker, expert baker, avid doll collector and an accomplished pianist. She was always a little extra; making exquisite dresses, crocheting intricate lace, traveling the world, even demanding her grandchildren call her Grand-Ma-Ma. Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herman B. Bean on April 18, 2014. Not a day went by that her heart did not ache to be with him again. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers Tommy Anderson and Wayne Anderson.
Surviving are three sons; Barry G. Lawrence and wife Missy, Randall L. Lawrence and wife Deborah of Trinity, NC and Richard G. Lawrence and wife Donna of High Point, NC; stepdaughters, Kathy Hylton St. Clair and husband, Mike of Augusta, GA and Trisha Decker and husband, Dan of Murfreesboro, TN; siblings, Bonnie Fishel and husband, Gray of Clemmons, Peggy Hankins and husband, David of Pleasant Garden, Dr. Wayne Anderson and wife, Barbara of Missouri, Ronnie Anderson of Wagram and Lonnie Anderson and wife, Barbara of High Point; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
