Doris Idol Anderson

Kernersville - Mrs. Doris Idol Anderson, 90, passed away March 21, 2015 at her home. She was born February 9, 1925 to the late Maude Hedgecock Idol and Curtis Idol. Doris was preceded in death on March 3, 2015 by her loving husband, John Robert Anderson; daughter; Linda Gail Hodge; brothers Ralph and Edgar Idol; sister Virginia Kiger; grandson Kevin Hodge; sons-in-law, Ronald Hodge and Jimmy Hedgecock.

Surviving are; two daughters; Nancy Anthony (Bobby) of Glenola, and Joyce Hedgecock of Kernersville, two sons; John R. Anderson, Jr. (Mary Jane), and Harry Wayne Anderson (Judy) both of Kernersville, 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 2 great, great-grandchildren, a sister in law, Rose Byrd of Lumberton, and a brother-in-law David Anderson of Lakeland, Fl.

A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Bunker Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. David Rorie officiating. Burial will follow in Bunker Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday evening at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family would like memorials to be made to the Capital Improvement Fund at Bunker Hill United Methodist at 1510 Bunker Hill Rd. Kernersville, NC 27284, or to Hospice of the Piedmont, at 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
