Dorene Gourley

Winston Salem – Mrs. Dorene Turner Gourley, 95,  passed away March 8, 2022, peacefully at her home. She was born April 4, 1926, in Harnett County to the late Zeb Wyatte Turner and Ollie Rebecca Hester Turner. Mrs. Gourley was a faithful member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church and active with United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack Avery Gourley, and a grandson, Lee Livengood.

Surviving are her two children; Rebecca Petersen and husband Tonny, and Steven Gourley and wife Brenda, three grandsons, Kenneth Gourley (Neesha), Dwayne Gourley (Michelle), and Robert Petersen (Susan); eleven  great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 14, 2022, at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would like memorials to be made to Morris Chapel United Methodist Church 2715 Darrow Road Walkertown, NC 27051. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Gourley family.
