Dorcas Wilkes

Ms. Dorcas “Dottie” Gobble Wilkes, 73, of Clemmons, NC, passed away Monday, August 1, 2022, at her residence. Dottie was born on January 28, 1949, in Davie County to the late Ottis Lee Gobble and Audrey White Gobble. She was a longtime member of Ijames Baptist Church in Mocksville and a regular attendee at Center United Methodist Church in Welcome, NC for over 19 years. She retired from Lucent Technologies with over 34 years of service.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lee Wilkes, and her sister, Patricia "Patsy" Patti. She is survived by a son, Ryan Edwards, and daughter in law Stephanie; 5 grandchildren, Tatum, Coree, Karson, Julia and Levi Edwards, who she loved dearly; her sister, Wanda (Johnny) McBride; three brothers, Donnie Gobble, Odell (Marsha) Gobble, Tommy (Barbara) Gobble, and Vic Patti (Bunni), all of Mocksville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Center United Methodist Church, 186 Center Church Road, Welcome, NC. Family will receive friends at 1 hour prior.
