Mrs. Donna Wilson Wiles, age 68, formerly of Winston-Salem, died at her home in Holden Beach surrounded by her family on Monday, January 11, 2010. She went to be with the Lord after a long battle with kidney cancer. She handled her declining health with bravery and generosity, showing love to family and friends. Donna was born in Forsyth County on April 7, 1941 to the late Robah M. Wilson and Maude E. Frye. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Donna will especially be remembered for her quick wit, fun loving spirit, and her love of gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry E. Wiles, a daughter, Karen R. Wiles, a brother, Claude Wilson and two sisters, Thelma Martin and Shirley Brooke. Donna is survived by 6 children, Johnny M. Wilson of Winston Salem, Randy Magaraci and wife, Alisa of Mt. Airy, Angela Wolford and husband, Mike, Larry Wiles and wife, Kenna of Holden Beach, Laura Handy and husband, Wayne of Winston Salem, and Kevin Wiles of Holden Beach. She was the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Donna is also survived by seven loving brothers and sisters, Edna Gross, Ellis Ray Wilson, Oscar Wilson, Lois Wilson, Geraldine Bolin, Jeanie Holder and her beloved twin Audrey Vaughn. The family will receive friends form 7-9 this evening, January 15, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
