Donna Joyce Pod" Pope

Mrs. Donna Joyce Pope, ""Pod"" of Denver, NC went to be with her Lord and her mother on November 16, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 23, 1949 in Winston-Salem the daughter of Graham O. Joyce of Rural Hall and the late Tena Joyce. Survivors include her adoring husband of 27 years, Kenny Pope, a son, Nolan Duggins, a daughter Lindy (Scott) Clawson, two step-daughters, Camyll and Addie Pope, four wonderful and loving grandchildren who she adored, Lily and Jakob Clawson and Maison and Elias Peters, two sisters, Christine (Don) Jones and Cindy (David) Porter, two brothers, Jimmy (Janice) Joyce and Drake (Sue) Joyce, one niece and three nephews. She is also survived by very special friends, Cindy and Katlyn Hooper and many other friends and family. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Rural Hall with Rev. Derrick S. Dellinger officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to; Hospice of Lincoln County, 107 N. Cedar Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092. The family would like to thank Dr. Judith Hopkins and her staff and Hospice of Lincoln County for the tender care given to our beloved Donna.
