Donald Floyd Witherspoon

KERNERSVILLE-Donald Floyd Witherspoon, 73, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born September 25, 1942 in Rutherford, TN to the late Floyd and Lena Hurst Witherspoon. Donald was a member of Central Baptist Church in Oak Ridge and a United States Navy Veteran. He retired after 35 years of service with BellSouth. Donald loved his family and was a caretaker by nature. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Surviving are his loving wife of 39 years, Robin Webster Witherspoon; two sons, Kris (April) Witherspoon, Jonathan (Amy) Witherspoon; two grandsons, Blake and Cooper Witherspoon; and two sisters, Una Barron and Rosy Anderson. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. David Miller and Kris Witherspoon officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 23, 2015 from 1:00-1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, 1715 NC-68, Oak Ridge, NC 27310.
