Donald Welch

Mr. Donald Bruce Welch, 87, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at his residence.  He was born July 13, 1933 in Knox County, MO., the son of Arthur and Ann Mendina Welch.  He was of the Methodist faith, retired from the State of Missouri, Western Electric, and proudly served our country as a Korean War Veteran in the U. S. Air Force.  Mr. Welch loved to play golf, ballroom dance, and loved animals.  He played baseball in his younger years and was offered a professional contract, but deferred and went into the Air Force, where he played on the base teams.  He was also an off-ice official for some of the local professional ice hockey teams.  An outspoken kind-hearted person, he was preceded in death by his parents; a stepson, Scott Wyatt; a brother, Jack Welch; his cat, Pearl and his dog, Pongo.  Survivors include his wife, Shirley Welch; two daughters, Wendy Walker (Allan Sliker) of Rock Hill, SC., and Pamela Keiser (K.J.) of Advance; four grandchildren Alex Martin (Billy), Kurtis Keiser (Shelby), Lucas Walker (Julia), and Ryan Walker (Nikki); a stepdaughter, Denese McTaggart; two step-grandchildren, Jessica Hall, and Kris Wyatt and 3 great grandchildren, Jaxson Martin, Foster Martin and Jaden Wyatt.   A private family service will be held.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
