Mr. Donald Curt Weidemann, 83, of Winston-Salem (formerly of Bristol, RI) passed away at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on March 11, 2016. He was born on October 4, 1932 to Curt Ernest Weidemann and Bertha Doberstein Weidemann in Newark, NJ. Donald served in the U.S. Air Force and later dedicated himself to a career in education. He was a member of Advent Moravian Church where he served as a choir member. Among his interests were stamp collecting, gardening, listening to classical music and watching NASCAR. He was a valuable volunteer at the Shepherd's Center and also a member of the American Legion. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters. Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Weidemann. Surviving are a daughter, Kristen Gomes and husband, Derek; as well as grandchildren Adrienne and Abby. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 14, 2016 at Advent Moravian Church with Rev. Tim Sapp officiating. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the family.
