Donald Gray Thomas

Mr. Donald Gray Thomas, 74, of Winston-Salem, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 12, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born in Forsyth County on May 30, 1938, a son of Carl and Jenny Thomas. He attended church at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Winston-Salem. He worked for the Forsyth County Sheriff's Department for 27 years and retired from the department in 1993. Don married Patricia Thomas on January 13, 1962. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ralph, Kenneth and Paul Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Thomas of the home; a son, Keith Thomas and wife Tammy of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Chelsie Thomas and Hailey Thomas, and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 15, 2012 at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Winston-Salem with Rev. Tim Wolfe and Rev. Don Sigmon officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
