Donald Lee Shields

Colfax-Donald Lee Shields, 76, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Hospice Home at High Point. He was born September 18, 1933 in Forsyth Co. to the late William Clinton and Bertha Preston Shields. Donald was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He retired from AMP after 25 years of service. Donald was an avid freshwater and saltwater fisherman. Surviving are his wife, Mary Throckmorton Shields of the home; four sons, Neal Shields and wife, Lisa of Greensboro, Dale Shields of MI, Jay Shields of High Point, and Lou Shields and wife, Trulia of Greensboro; seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Brandin, Jessica, Samantha, Xandria, Patrick, and Tristan; two brothers, Jerry Shields of Kernersville, and Arnold Shields; and his two walking canine buddies, Princess and Scooter. A private service will be held Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2010 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
