Donald Shaw

Mr. Donald Truman Shaw, 87, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020. He was born in Surry County on September 13, 1933, to the late Joseph Edgar and Susie Duncan Shaw. Don was the owner of Donald T. Shaw Company. He enjoyed fishing and gardening in his yard. Don served his country proudly in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a simple and selfless man, but he was very complex. Family meant everything to him, especially his grandchildren who he was so proud of.

In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Eryn Rose Shaw, and three brothers: Thomas E. Shaw, William C. Shaw, and Wiser L. Shaw. Surviving is his loving wife of sixty-three years, Mabel King Shaw; three children: Donna Shaw Hulcher (Mark), Cynthia Leigh Shaw, and Donald Timothy Shaw (Tammy); thirteen grandchildren: Zachary Hulcher (Katharine), Jonathan Hulcher, Benjamin Hulcher, Jacob Shaw (Hannah), Claire Henderson (Bennett), Rebekah Shaw, Grace Shaw, Joshua Shaw, Simon Shaw, Ava Shaw, Luke Shaw, and Sadie Shaw; a great-granddaughter, Madison Hulcher; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 17, 2020, at Manna Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Phil Little. The family will receive friends from 12:45 PM – 1:45 PM Saturday prior the service at the church. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 19, 2020, at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
