Donald Eugene Rutledge

Mr. Donald Eugene Rutledge, 80, passed away Friday, May 26, 2023, at his home. He was born March 22, 1943 in Stokes County, NC to the late Charlie Clayborn Rutledge and Ruby Lillian Boles Rutledge. He was a member of Corinth Church of Christ. After 25 years with Sears, Don retired and began a second career at Custom Wood Products. In his spare time, he enjoyed old fashion farming and always loved feeding the birds, deer, and wildlife on his farm. Don liked relaxing with his cats. He was a leader in the Hanging Rock District of the Boy Scouts as well as a member of the Order of the Arrow, Wahissa Lodge. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Ceceil Eugene Rutledge; sister, Shirley Schahrer; and brother, Jackie Rutledge. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Vicky Lynn Gordon Rutledge; daughter, Robynn Renee Rutledge; son, Benjamin Rutledge (Kayla); and two grandsons, Brent and Parker Rutledge. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Rev. Robert Lattimore officiating. Interment will follow the service at Corinth Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM, Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Corinth Church of Christ Cemetery Fund.
