Donald "Don" Houston Poplin

Mr. Donald ""Don"" Houston Poplin, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2015. Don was born on September 10, 1937, Cabarrus County, NC to the late Lester K. Poplin and Wilma Helms Poplin. He was the owner of Stratford Road Exxon. Don was also a Veteran of the US Navy. Don is survived by his loving wife, Iris of the home; one son, Chris Poplin and wife Susan of Winston-Salem; two daughters, Phyllis Marshall of Winston-Salem and Tammy Slater of Lewisville; two special grandchildren, Ashlyn and Christopher Slater. A graveside service for Don will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory with Dr. William Folds officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to an organization of the donor's choosing. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek is assisting the family.
