Donald Delaney Martin, Sr.

Kernersville - Mr. Donald Delaney Martin, Sr. passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice and Palliative Care Center. He was born February 15, 1938 to the late Annie Caroline Morphis and Gehaney V. Martin. Mr. Martin worked for Burlington Industries for more than 40 years. He loved to work on cars and lawnmowers in his garage. Don was a simple man who will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Donald D. Martin, Jr.

Surviving are; two daughters; Donna Hudson and husband Clay; and Debbie Martin; one son; Doug Martin and girlfriend; Sylvia Aldarondo; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; his lifetime friend; Bud Simmons; and his faithful companion; Ginger.

A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, May 16, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Jeff Broadstreet officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Sunday evening, May 15, 2016 at the funeral home. The family would like to thank his many friends and neighbors for their support in taking care of Don.
