Donald Wayne Lumley

Mr. Donald Wayne Lumley, 47, passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 25, 2010. He was born December 31, 1962 to Wayne and Texie ""Pete"" Lumley. He grew up in the Stanleyville area and attended Pleasant View Baptist Church during his younger years. Don graduated from Salem Baptist Christian School in Winston-Salem and Stamps Baxter School of Music in TN. He was employed by TYCO Electronics, Burgess Rd. in Greensboro, NC. Don was a member of Woodland Baptist Church and a member of the Watchmen Sunday School Class. He loved his class and was proud to be associated with these fine men. Music was a highlight in Don's life. He had a special talent and enjoyed sharing his music with others and singing for the Lord. Don loved and enjoyed being with his many friends, the gang from Belle Ave., his golfing buddies, the guys from work, his church family and his other ""special"" friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Lumley. Don is survived by his wife of 17 years, ""the love of his life"", Carolyn Midkiff Lumley and his special ""Sadie"". He is also survived by his mother, ""Pete"" Lumley of Winston-Salem, a sister, Traci Lumley of Mooresville, his father-in-law, Donnie Midkiff, his mother-in-law, Sandra Midkiff, two brothers-in-law, Jeffrey Midkiff and wife Becky of Walkertown and Kevin Midkiff and wife Melissa of Pilot Mtn. and several loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Don will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Woodland Baptist Church in Rural Hall with Rev. Tim Gammons, Rev. R. Zeno Groce and Rev. Bud Owen officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends from 7-9 this evening March 27, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
