Donald Gerald Jackson, 89, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center. Don was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on March 21, 1932 to the late Ollie Burleson Jackson and Thomas Lee Jackson, Sr. He received a B.S. in Industrial Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Alabama. He had many years of experience in design, constructing and startup of various types of electrical generating facilities including several years with the U.S. Army missile and space programs. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jackson is preceded in death by his four siblings, Mack, Larkin, Bud, and Frances. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Jackson Parkman (Regil); two grandsons, Brent (Hailey) and Austin (Mackenzie); six great-grandsons: Henry, Thomas, James, Luke, Liam, and Adam; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was a faithful member of Warners Chapel Church of Christ. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Cedar Tree Cemetery in Hackleburg, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Missions Ministry at Warners Chapel Church of Christ, 8999 Lasater Rd., Clemmons, NC 27012.
