Donald Gray Swaim

Donald Gray Swaim, 87, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at his home. Donald was born on July 19, 1936 in Forsyth County to the late Osher Victor Swaim and Lillian Crotts Swaim. Donald was employed at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company as a mechanic for 30 years. Donald loved to fish, to play the guitar, and to work on old cars. He also enjoyed spending time in his garden. He loved Jesus and was a member of Samaritan Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Martha Clodfelter Swaim; three daughters, Kim Pope (Mike), Cindy Wiggins, and Debbie Noah (Aaron); seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, with Rev. Danny Smith officiating. A burial will immediately follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
