Psalm 34:6, ""This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of his troubles."" Donald Mack ""Don"" Gentry, 57 of East Bend, NC went home to be with the Lord in his sleep, Wednesday, February 11, 2009. He was a man who put God first in everything. Don was born January 3, 1952 in Davidson County, the son of the late Paul Wortham Gentry and Norma Hester Gentry Smith. He was a graduate of West Forsyth High School and was a faithful member of Bible Baptist Church, where he played the piano for the choir and with their Nursing Home Ministry. Don worked 20 years for Wilson Heating and Air before starting his own company, Don's Heating and Air Inc. 17 years ago. His passion in life was his family and never missed a day of work or church service. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Judy G. Gibbs. Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife of 38 years, Beth Nowell Gentry of the home, three children, Angie Mims and husband, David of East Bend, Brian Gentry and wife Cindy of Winston-Salem, Matthew Gentry of East Bend; four grandchildren, Delia and Katherine Mims, Reese and Riley Gentry, two brothers; Larry Gentry and wife Brenda of Boonville, NC, Randy D. Gentry and wife Lavonne of Southport, NC, a uncle, Ernest ""Cub"" Hester and wife Edna of Lexington, NC, a number of nieces and nephews and many special friends. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 pm Friday, February 13, 2009 at Bible Baptist Church, Clemmons. The Funeral Service will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday, February 14 at Bible Baptist Church officiated by Larry Gentry. Burial will follow at Grapevive Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bible Baptist Church, 6350 Styers Ferry Road, Clemmons, NC 27012. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the Gentry Family.
