Donald Aldine Dillon

Mr. Donald Aldine Dillon, 71, of Winston-Salem passed away Sunday, March 29, 2009 at his home. Mr. Dillon was born in Forsyth County on August 14, 1937 to the late Aldine and Lois Randall Dillon. He graduated from Gray High School in 1955 where he played baseball. He also enjoyed playing softball in the ""City League"" and coaching Little League Football with the Ardmore Wildcats. Mr. Dillon retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 40+ years of domestic and international service. He also worked as a butcher in the South Fork and Five Points Communities. Mr. Dillon was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a lifetime member of Southside Baptist Church. Don loved to fish, cook, and spend time on the coast. He loved people and was a testament to ""love your neighbor as yourself"", often giving up an opportunity to fish in order to care for someone else. Mr. Dillon is survived by his wife Ann Stafford Dillon; a daughter Sheree Icenhower and husband Mark; a son Brian Dillon and wife Lisa; stepson Shannon Stafford; a brother Bob Dillon and wife Carolyn; a mother-in-law Treva Kimball; four grandchildren, Nick Icenhower, Michelle Icenhower, and Justin and Jonathan Dillon; and a great grandchild, Landon Masters. A memorial service will be conducted 4:00 pm Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Friedland Moravian Church with the Rev. Wally Yarbrough and Rev. Wilson Harmon officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to Sunnyside Ministry, 319 Haled Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27127 or a charity of the donor's choice which assists those who are out of work. The family wishes to thank Drs.
