Donald Don Eugene DePriest

Mr. Donald Eugene DePriest, 72, passed away Friday evening, November 5, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born October 6, 1938 in Peoria, IL to the late Clyde and Edith Cale DePriest. Don proudly served his country in the United States Navy from which he retired with 26 years of service. He then served his community as a social studies teacher in the Stokes Co. School System. Don was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Stanleyville, where he taught Sunday School and sang the church choir and with the Happy Harmonizers. Don is survived by his wife Sharron Ellis DePriest of the home, his children, Louis, Charles, Ana, Dona and Robert, his two step-sons, Charles and Bradley, 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Wanda and Anita Kay, two brothers, Stephen and Raymond and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Don's life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville with Pastor Eddie Honeycutt officiating. The family will receive friends directly following the service at the church.
