Donald Sides Crater

Mr. Donald Sides Crater, 75, of Winston-Salem, passed away Friday June 23, 2017. Donald was born August 7, 1941, in Forsyth County to Howard R. Crater and Irene Sides Crater. He was a member of Heavenview United Pentecostal Church and loved his church and most of all his family. Donald was preceded in death by his parents.
Donald is survived by the love of his life - his wife of 52 years, Phyllis P. Crater; sons, H. Ross Crater (Leanne Cates) and Joseph D. Crater; 5 grandchildren, Dayna Jo Crater, Stephanie Eller, Ashlyn Cates, Michael Cates (Danielle) and Trenton Cates; great-grandchildren, Rowan Jarvis, Bodhi Jarvis and Dylan Cates; sisters, Carol Atkins (Dan) and Jane Hiatt; uncle, Roger Crater; aunt, Betty Wise; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Harold Lender officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.
