Dolores Estelle White

Mrs. Dolores White passed away Tuesday evening February 23, 2016 at The Oaks at Forsyth. Dolores was born in Forsyth County to the late Martin Blaine Summerlin and Ruth Heggie Summerlin. She was a charter member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a graduate of Gardner-Webb University and retired from AT&T with 41 years of service. Dolores was a very kind lady with a great sense of humor and always willing to help family, friends, or a stranger. She was preceded in death by a sister Jeanette Sapp; and a brother Charles Summerlin. Dolores is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ray ""Bill"" White of the home; two daughters Karen Annette White and Sharon Fletcher (Mark); three grandchildren Anna, Adam, and Alex Fletcher, who were the joy of her life; a brother Ron Carter (Barbara); a sister Kay Griener; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Hebron United Church of Christ with Rev. Paula Wells officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:45 AM before the service at the Church. Donations may be made in Dolores's memory to Hebron United Church of Christ, 129 Hebron Church Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27107 or the Charity of the Donor's Choice. The family would like to give a special thank you to the family and friends for their support and prayers and a thank you to the staff at The Oaks at Forsyth and Baptist Hospital for their loving care towards Dolores.
