Dolly Vogler Riddle, 85, died Thursday evening, July 18, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on Leap Year Day, February 29, 1928, to the late Charles Albert and Mamie Todd Vogler. She was a charter member of Green Meadows Baptist Church. Dolly was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She worked as a beautician for several years, but her greatest pleasure was working alongside Pete and the boys in running their country store, farming and helping at the tractor store. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Lawrence ""Pete"" Riddle; her sons Vance (Karen) Riddle and Gene Riddle; her granddaughters, Anna (Michael) Mitchell, Grace Riddle and boyfriend Hunter Gray; her special great-grandchildren Caroline and Charlie Mitchell; sisters Garnette ""Dot"" Bodsford and Gladys Hockaday; sisters-in-law Jackie Vogler and Betty Vogler and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters and brother-in-law Mae and Marvin Tesh, Mary ""Sis"" and Elmer ""Bus"" Jones, Eula and Roy Frye; brothers and sisters-in-law Gerald and Lucille Vogler, Wade and Beatrice Vogler, Richard and Maxine Vogler, and Raymond Vogler; sister-in-law Lillian Vogler; brothers-in-law Lindsey ""Tip""Bodsford and Kenneth Hockaday. The funeral will be Sunday July 21, 2013 at Green Meadows Baptist Church, Mocksville at 4:00 PM with Rev. Josh Greene and Rev. Ray Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 at the church. The family expresses deep thanks to Dr. Ted Toborg and staff for their many years of compassionate care; the staff of Forsyth Medical Center, Palliative Care 8th floor, for their tender care of Dolly and the hospital staff for allowing Pete, while a patient himself, and Dolly many visits together during these past three weeks; and also to Luray Myers and Chrissy Burton for their loving care of Dolly for the past two years.
