Mrs. Dixie Cheek Wolfe, 77, of Winston-Salem passed away January 9, 2012 at The Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born December 3, 1934 in Yadkin County, the daughter of the late Lon and Sally Money Cheek. She graduated from West Yadkin High School and worked for R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company for thirty years before retiring in 1987. Dixie was of the Baptist faith and attended Oak Forest United Methodist church as long as her health permitted. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty eight years, Don Gerald Wolfe; two sisters, Avis Cheek and Aldean Leonard, two brothers, J. K. Cheek and Click Cheek; a brother-in-law; Edward Wolfe, Sr. and a sister-in-law, Mayra Wolfe. Survivors include one son, Kelly Wolfe of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Krista, Carly, Zack and Zane of East Bend; one great granddaughter, Chloe; three sisters, Maxine Thomasson, Brenda Cheek and Rickey Sidden of Hamptonville; two sisters-in-law, Nan Cheek and Ruth Cheek of Winston-Salem; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Carol, Carlene, Helen, Betsy and Earl. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Joe Souther officiating.
