Mr. Dixie Perdue Pinnix, 90, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. He was born on December 31, 1919 in Forsyth County to the late Charlie Franklin Pinnix and Agnes Boyd Pinnix. Mr. Pinnix was a member of Northwoods Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during WWII and retired as a truck driver from Spector Trucking Company. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Dollie Pinnix, three brothers and five sisters. Mr. Pinnix is survived by one son, Wayne Pinnix and wife Betty, three daughters, Phyllis Barringer, Brenda Knouse and husband Bill and Judy Pinnix Crabtree, 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Northwoods Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Thompson and Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Burial with military rites provided by American Legion Post #290 will follow in Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
