Direct Current 'Lucky' Retterer

Mr. Direct Current ""Lucky"" Retterer, 62, of Winston-Salem, passed away Friday, October 19, 2012 at Duke Medical Center. His nearly year long battle with cancer, and a bone marrow transplant ultimately weren't enough. He was born February 16, 1950 in Warren, PA to Richard and Larayne Nutt Retterer. He was a fast talking business man who loved to make a deal. Direct lived all over the country becoming a natural in the restaurant business. He loved the challenge of a new concept, and how to make it work. That came second to his love of people and the everyday interaction with his friends and employees. Direct opened up restaurants such as Chuckulz, J.F. Grinz, and February's. In most recent years he became part of the Ashley Furniture family. One he took great pride in. Direct was an exceptionally loving person and father. He is survived by his only son, Xzetera Direct Current Retterer. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, October 27 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
