HARBIN Winston-Salem - Dianne Woodruff Harbin passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 8, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. Dianne was born in Winston-Salem on Dec. 15, 1946. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Dianne was a graduate of RJ Reynolds High School and diligently worked for McLean Trucking Company, the office of Dr. A.A. Schwartz, M.D., the office of Drs. James Freshwater and Timothy Jameson and Piedmont Ear, Nose and Throat and Associates. Dianne is survived by her husband of 40 years, Larry Harbin, of Winston-Salem and her children Laura Harbin Stern, her husband Brian and their son Grayson James of Houston, TX; John Harbin of Asheville; a twin sister Donna Woodruff Wolff of Burlington; a niece Stephanie Thomas Stevens, her husband Thomas and their son Evan. She was preceded in death by her father John Maland Woodruff and her mother Mary Hazel Fulp Woodruff. The family would like to thank Dr. Richard A. Brodkin and staff, Forsyth Medical Oncology, Novant Palliative Care and Kate B. Reynolds Hospice and Palliative Care for the compassionate care given to Dianne over the course of her illness. A visitation will be held Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Kate B.
