Diane Edgeworth Jessup, 51, of Lewisville, was called to Glory on July 4, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after a two year battle with breast cancer. Diane was born in Houston, TX on April, 26, 1960 to the late Richard Lovell Edgeworth and Julia Newman Edgeworth but lived her teenage years in Rural Hall, NC. when her parents relocated there. Diane had many passions in life. First and foremost was her faith in God. She was an active member of Grapevine Baptist Church in Lewisville. Her faith was evident in the way she lived her life, treated others and unfailingly was true to her testimony. There was definitely a light around her. Her family meant the world to her. She saw her father through his many health issues and will watch over her mother from above. She loved her children fiercely and stuck by her husband through thick and thin. There wasn't a species of animal that wasn't rescued by Diane. Even so much as the lizard she took on vacation to Florida so that she could minister to him because he was sick. Diane was a nurse for twenty years at Forsyth Medical Center on 6th Diabetic (later becoming 6th Diabetic/Telemetry). Diane's calling in life was obviously to be a nurse. She lovingly cared for people from all walks of life without judgment and with the utmost compassion. This is the area in Diane's life where her light shone brightest. Even when she was too debilitated to work it was obvious she missed taking care of people and cared for her friends with her gentle good humor and inspiration. Diane is preceded in death by her father, the late Richard Lovell Edgeworth; sister-in-law, the late Glenda Jessup;, brother-in-law, the late Warren Jessup. Surviving are her mother, Julia Newman Edgeworth, husband, Doug Jessup; daughter and son, Amy and Daniel Jessup; brother Ricky (Debbie) Edgeworth and their son Ryan; sister-in-law Vicki (Mike) Kinzie and their children Will (Valerie) Kinzie (daughter Bella) and Dylan Kinzie, brother-in-law Dwayne Jessup. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home at 3315 Silas Creek Parkway on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Grapevine Baptist Church on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ronnie Comer officiating. Interment will be at Parklawn Memorial Park on Peter's Creek Parkway. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to an animal charity of choice, the American Cancer Society and/or a church of choice. The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for their loving and devoted care.
