Dewitt Henderson Carter

Belews Creek - Dewitt Henderson Carter, 89, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2011. He was born June 2, 1922 in Forsyth Co. to the late Dewitt W. and Willie Clark Carter. Mr. Carter was a member of the Belews Creek Volunteer Fire Dept. and a WWII Army Veteran. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Viola G. Carter. Surviving are his sister, Mildred Marshall of Belews Creek; step-sister, Virginia Pope of Winston Salem; step-brother, William E. Dillon of Burlington; niece, Diane Hansley and husband Sonny of Belews Creek; and a great-nephew, Frankie Hansley of Belews Creek. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, June 10, 2011 at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown with the Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Carter family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Belews Creek Volunteer Fire Dept., PO Box 129, Belews Creek, NC 27009.
