Dewey Collins

On Sunday, December 13, 2020, Dewey Lee Collins, passed away at the age of 54.  Dewey was born on May 23, 1966 in Winston-Salem, NC.  He had a passion for landscaping, and really enjoyed doing handiwork.  He also was a certified small engine mechanic.  He really just loved helping people, a kind and gentle soul.  He also loved racing!   He was a big fan of Dale Earnhardt and during racing season he enjoyed spending his Saturday nights at Bowman Gray Stadium where he was excited to be involved with the pit crew and spending time with his uncle, Joe Evans.  Dewey was faithful to his home church, First Apostolic Church of King, and loved his church family.  He is survived by his mother Judy Gumpert, his father David Collins, two brothers David Collins and Jeffrey Collins, 8 nieces and nephews, and several cousins, aunts and uncles.  The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.  Dewey, although you are gone, you are not forgotten.  Your memory lives on in our hearts until we meet again one day.  A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the First Apostolic Church of King, 705 South Main St, Unit 1, King, NC at 11:00 am.  Flowers can be sent to 108 East King St, King, NC. 27021 or in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Exodus Ministries or Special Olympics.
