Despina "Dee" Thalassinos Davis

Winston-Salem- Mrs. Despina “Dee” Thalassinos Davis. 98, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Forest Heights Senior Living surrounded by the love of family and friends. She was born September 2, 1925, in Samos, Greece, the daughter of Rev. Fr. George Thalassinos and Presbyter Maria Thalassinos. She came to the United States at an early age and was raised in both Indianapolis, IN and Altoona, PA. Despina was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church where she sang in the choir for many years and was retired from the Veterans Administration after many years of service. She was a quiet, gracious lady who was dedicated to her family and loved by all. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carnie Davis; a sister, Stella Mathes; a brother-in-law, Jim Mathes and a niece, Frances Nelson. Survivors include a nephew, George Mathes and many family and friends. Funeral Services will be private. The family wants to thank the staff of Forest Heights Senior Living and the staff of Medi Home Health and Hospice for their care of Dee. The family also wishes to thank Martha Dentiste,Andree Konstatopoulos and their families for their special love and support of the Mathes and Thalassinos families. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 435 Keating Dr., Winston-Salem, NC 27104, or St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 808 N. Hamilton St., High Point, NC 27262.
