Mr. Denver Clay “Clayton” Gambill, 89, of Winston-Salem, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022 at his home. He was born December 19, 1932 in Forsyth County to George and Walsie Waddell Gambill. Clayton served in the U.S. Army and was a Mason. He was a member of Samaritan Baptist Church and was the owner of Gambill Tile. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jo Ellen Ward Gambill; two daughters, Dana Griggs and Linda Driggers (Roger); four grandchildren, Chris Driggers (Kristy), Joey Driggers (Jennifer), Ashley Poirier (Will) and Brandon Griggs (Marissa); eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2022 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Danny Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
