Denver Leonzo Cardwell, 70, passed away on Thursday, December 16th at 3:09 a.m. at W.F.B.M.C with family by his side. Denver is a native of King, North Carolina. He is a retired maintenance technician. In his spare time, he enjoyed a good cup of coffee, talking with his family and friends and watching John Wayne movies. He was born to the late, Nathan Leonzo & Annie Lou Mabe Cardwell on March 30, 1941, in Moore County, Carthage, North Carolina. Denver is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Lisa Cardwell of Tilden, IL; sister, Betty C. Elliot of King; devoted caregiver and loving son, Nathan Todd Cardwell of WS; daughters, Ivi Anne Cardwell of Rural Hall, April C. (Robin) Newman of Stoneville; step-children Jerry (Angela) McGee of Clemmons, Mark (Cindy) McNary of MO, Vincent McNary of IL, Micah (Sarah) McNary of MO, Marsha (Travis) Vick of MO: grandchildren- Nathan, Nicole, Zachary, Robin Aaron, Charlee, Johnathan, Jason, Jeannetta, Juliet, Joshua, Danielle, Dayshon, Joshua, Alex, Dalton, Melissa, Amanda, Jesse, Hannah; great-grandchildren- Isabella, Jocelyn, Zoe, Bailey, Justin, Grace, Sully, Payton, Aries, Vajetta, Serenity. A graveside service will held 3:30Pm on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Mount Olive Baptist Church in King with grandson, Pastor Jason McGee officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 - 3 p.m. Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel.
