Mr. Dennis Lee Stutts, beloved husband, daddy, and pawpaw, 75, passed away on his birthday, August 17, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after a courageous four year battle with esophageal cancer
Mr. Stutts was born August 17, 1939 in Forsyth County to the late Nellie Stutts Strupe and Ferry O. Stutts. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Henry E. Strupe, sister, Helen S. Davis, and husband Gilbert. Dennis graduated from Griffith High School. He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 37 years of service. He was a faithful member of Griffith Baptist Church as long as his health permitted.
Surviving to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 51 years, Judy Hauser Stutts; his devoted daughter, Cindy Weisner and husband Brian; two precious granddaughters, Grace and Cate Weisner of Winston-Salem; a brother, Jack L. Stutts and wife Sue; step-sister, Nancy Clark and husband Mitch of Wilmington, NC. He is also survived by faithful nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dennis dearly loved and was loved by his family and many friends. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed gardening, boating, fishing, hunting, hiking and loved yard sales and negotiating that special price. All who knew and loved him would agree he was ""One of a Kind"".
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Tony Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until 1:45pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at Hopewell Moravian Church graveyard.
