Mr. Dennis Ring, Jr. of Clemmons, NC went home to the Lord on June 14th at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Forsyth County on July 21st, 1943 to the late Dennis Ring and Luray Jackson. Mr. Ring was a member of Griffith Baptist Church. Dennis met the love of his life, Sue Poplin Ring, at the tender age of 17 and the couple was married on March 25, 1961. Dennis was a salesman by trade, but an incredible husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend by God's graces. He was known and appreciated for his strong work ethic and compassion for others. His favorite Bible verse, ""For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life,"" (John 3:16) was indicative of his spirit. He enjoyed UNC basketball and Nascar, but his greatest loves were for his family and church. Nothing made him happier than trips with his wife of 52 years. He also loved attending his children's, and later his grandchildren's, activities, athletic, and dance events. 'Papa' was always ready for hugs and kisses from his grandchildren: Reilly, Colby, Samantha, and Zoie. He is survived by his wife Sue Poplin Ring of Clemmons; Dennis III and Kristen Ring and their children Reilly, Colby and Samantha of Fairhope, Alabama; James and Tara Ring and daughter Zoie of Clemmons, N.C; a brother Artie Ring and wife Frankie, a sister Linda Ring Dunlevy and husband Thomas (Todd), a very special brother and sister-in-law Boyd and Bobbie Poplin as well as dozens of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2013 at Griffith Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Brown, Rev. Mike Duffield and Rev. Bruce Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons, N.C. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday evening June 16, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the dedicated staff of Forsyth Hospital, the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House, and Dr. Kip Larson.
