Dennis Wayne Jarrard

Mr. Dennis Wayne Jarrard, 54, of Winston-Salem passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at his home. He was born November 17, 1954 in Forsyth County to Vernon D. and DeEtte Bryant Jarrard. Mr. Jarrard was a member of Christ Moravian Church. He was an avid golfer who was captain of Parkland High School golf team. He was a member of Wilshire Golf Association, and enjoyed participating in local golf tournaments and father/son events. He also enjoyed going to the beach. Dennis worked for R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and Bi-Lo Grocery Store until it closed. He was preceded in death by his father. Surviving are his mother, DeEtte B. Jarrard of the home; one daughter, Jessica Jarrard of Denver, CO; one son, Clinton Jarrard of Winston-Salem; the mother of his children, Laura Jarrard of Winston-Salem; one sister, Donna Joyce and husband Jerry of Rural Hall; one niece, Amanda Joyce; two nephews, Joshua and Nathan Joyce; and a special friend, Betty Davis of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 23 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Neil Routh and Pastor John Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Moravian Graveyard. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
