Mrs. Demetra C. Beskas, 85, of Clemmons, NC, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. Demetra was born on April 23, 1932, in Kansas City, MO, to Chris and Alexandra Konomos. After completing her education, Demetra married George Beskas and moved to Denver, CO, where she obtained her teaching certificate and taught in the Denver County School District. In 1985 she and her family moved to Dunwoody, GA, where she continued her teaching at Dunwoody Baptist Church School. Demetra was a devoted member of the Greek Orthodox Church and a member of the Philoptochos Society. Demetra was kind to all she came in contact with, but most importantly she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Palaskas. Surviving are her loving husband of 57 years, George Beskas; one daughter, Connie Marshall (husband Scott); one son, William Beskas (wife Anita); and four grandchildren, Alexander, Jasmine, Austin, and Brandon. A Trisagion service will be conducted at 11am on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. The family will receive friends immediately after the Trisagion service. A funeral service will be conducted at 12pm on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with Fr. Demetri Kangelaris and Fr. Constantine Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Warm Up America in care of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 435 Keating Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
