Delano Roberts

Mr. Delano "Del" Thomas Roberts, 84, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born on December 26, 1933 in Forsyth County to the late Glenn William Roberts and Lera May Joyce Roberts. He graduated from Clemmons High School in 1952. After graduating he joined the United States Army during the Korean conflict. Del later met the love of his life, Sylvia Ann Fowler, and they married on March 31, 1956. He retired from R.J. Reynolds with 30 years of service. Del was a faithful member of Woodland Baptist Church where he was also a member of the Ambassadors Sunday School Class. His testimony of his salvation was evident to whomever he met. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and will be dearly missed by his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Sylvia Ann Fowler Roberts, two brothers, and one sister. He is survived by three children: Mark (Beth), Marty (Melissa), and Kim (Julian); seven grandchildren: Tyler, Blair, Caleb, Zachary, Mollie, Lindsay, and Corey; five great-grandchildren: Lera, Aaron, Mason, Beau, and Jacob. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Woodland Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Gammons officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, NC.
