DeForrest Ruben Cole

Mr. DeForrest Ruben Cole, 87, of Winston-Salem, went home to be with his Lord away Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born May 3, 1924 in Sayre, PA. Mr. Cole was a member of North Point Baptist Church. He was a noted prayer warrior. He was a faithful member of the Messenger Sunday School Class and participated in the visitation program. He graduated from Gordon College and Baptist Bible Seminary. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Cole; and daughter, Susan Elaine Anderson. Surviving are his son, James Cole and wife Becky of Clemmons; two grandchildren, James Michael Cole and David DeForrest Cole; a great grandchild, Alyssia Michelle Cole; a sister, Helen Messick and husband Moe of Dallas, PA; and son-in-law, James Anderson of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11th at North Point Baptist Church with Pastor Skip Furrow and Dr. Karl Minor officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
