Mrs. Deborah “Debbie” Jean Simmons Sheek, 73, passed away on February 1, 2025, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on September 13, 1951, in Forsyth County to the late Dalbert Alex Simmons and Violet Marion Simmons. Debbie graduated from North Forsyth High School in 1969. Debbie was a homemaker and raised her children with passion. She loved spending time with her flowers. One of her favorite things to do was ride the golf cart through Rural Hall with the love of her life and visiting with neighbors and friends. Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Phil Sheek Sr., two children; Rita Sheek Cain (Brad), and Phillip Sheek, Jr. (Anna), three grandchildren; Madison Cain, Mason Cain, and Molly Sheek, one sister, Lori Simmons Cannoy (Jeff), two nieces; Nora Beth Cannoy and Carly Bess Cannoy, and other extended family and friends, and let’s not forget her favorite furry friend, “Miss Kitty”. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for their care of Debbie. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday February 5, 2025, at Rural Hall Memorial Park with Rev. Benjamin Webb officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Special Olympics of Stokes County at https://sonc.net/support/give/.
