Deborah 'Debbie' Jayne Collins

Mrs. Deborah ""Debbie"" Jayne Hamm Collins, 57, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2011 at WFUBMC in Winston-Salem. She was born in Forsyth Co. on July 3, 1954 to John Henry Hamm and Ninada ""Nan"" Franklin Belk. Debbie loved her church and was an active and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Stanleyville in Winston-Salem. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend who will be missed greatly by all who knew her. Debbie was preceded in death by her son, John Kevin Hamm and her step-father, Lukie Belk. She is survived by her loving husband, Sammy R. Collins of the home, her loving companion, Gizmo, her three children, Melody Chipley and husband Glen of Concord, Kory Lee Collins and wife Marlana and Courtney Marie Collins both of Yadkinville, 15 grandchildren, her mother, Ninada ""Nan"" Franklin Belk of Monroe, her father, John Henry Hamm of Alabama, two sisters, Janet Laney of Walkertown and Susan Holshouer and husband Don of Salisbury, two brothers, Ken Hamm and wife Terri of Mocksville and Tony Belk and wife Karen of Monroe. Debbie is also survived by her father-in-law, William Brady Collins of Winston-Salem, Cathey Bowman and husband Gene of Pfafftown and Patty Cox and husband Richard of Walkertown. Funeral services for Debbie will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville in Winston-Salem in their Family Life Center with Pastor Eddie Honeycutt and Pastor Terry Rausch officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00 on Sunday prior to the service in the Family Life Center. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: First Baptist Church of Stanleyville Care and Share Program, 851 Ziglar Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27105. The family would like to thank the staff of the 9th floor at WFUBMC for the care and support shown in Debbie's time of need.
