David Glenn Williams, 84, of Clemmons, NC, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016. He was born in Roanoke, VA, son of the late Minor Roy Williams and Pansy Turner Williams, and the step-son of Charlie Shelton. He was preceded in death by his good friend, and brother-in-law, Ray T. CEW expanded to approximately 12 locations throughout the Southeast. Dave was a very successful entrepreneur, and ran the business for many years, until he sold it around 1986. He was an avid car enthusiast, a private pilot, and a world traveler. Dave was a proud to have served his country, and was Honorably Discharged from the United States Navy. David is survived by his loving sister, Peggy W. Lewis, of Roanoke, VA, who was by his side when he passed. Those left to cherish his memories are his nieces and nephew: Susan Barton (Robert) of Blue Ridge, VA; Linda Wade (Bryant) of Franklin, TN; Butch Lewis (Trena) of Roanoke, VA; and Peggy Robertson (late husband Gary) of Chesterfield, VA. Dave is also survived by several great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his adopted son, Zane Williams, and his beloved canine companion, Roscoe. We would like to express special thanks to his best friend, Joe Gatto, of Winston Salem, NC, who always watched over him, and Dave's caretakers and friends, Jessica Blackburn, and Eric Ward.
