David Leo Teague, 81, of Pilot Mountain, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, April 6, 2018, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Leo was born in Forsyth County on August 10, 1936 to Lonnie and Cordie Teague. He graduated from Mineral Springs High School in 1956, attended Appalachian State University, Roanoke College, and major training programs with General Electric Supply Company where he retired as Regional Operational Specialist after 38 years of employment. He enjoyed doing the Lord's work on various Christian Church building committees and volunteered for 17 years calling bingo (as "Mr. Bingo") at Village Care of King. Leo was preceded in death by his parents; twin sister, Cleo Wishon; sister, Maxine Bunting; and brothers, Capt. LJ Teague (US Air Force) and Don G. Teague. Leo is survived by his wife, Valinda; son, David Teague (Anna); daughter, LeAnn Wooten (Jimmy); five grandchildren: Landon, Andy, Sarah (Kenny), Melissa, and John; great-granddaughter, Nell; sister, Irene McGee (William) of Arcadia; sister-in-law, Mary Teague of Harmony; many nieces and nephews; and his adored lap-dog, Dolly. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 9, at Poplar Springs Church of Christ with Ministers Chuck Bower, Don Wallace, and Ralph Sproles officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
