David Simms

Mr. David Allen Simms, 74, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on November 1, 1947, the son of the late James Marvin Simms and Daisy Gilbert Simms. David was a member of Jefferson Christian Church. He loved to fish, play golf and restore old cars. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who loved his family deeply. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings. David is survived by his wife, Judy Simms; two daughters, Kimberly Simms and Kari Stevens (John); a son, Ricky Mosley (Tracy); five grandchildren, Alyssia Love, Cody Stevens, Zack Stevens, Lauren Mosley and Tyler Mosley; and a great-grandchild, Paisley Stevens. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021, for family and friends at Jefferson Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Peter Cain officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association or JDRF.
