David Shermer

Mr. David Shermer passed away early Sunday morning October 17, at Forsyth Medical Center. David was born in Forsyth County on October 14, 1940 to the late Frank and Bessie Chaffin Shermer. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. David was grateful to Alcoholics Anonymous and for the many friends he made in the program. He retired from R. J. Reynolds with 22 years of service. He served honorably in the United States Air force from November 1960 to November 1964. He was a member of the Konnoak Hills Lion Club. David was an avid fisherman and golfer. He is preceded in death by Brother Richard W. Shermer of Chapel Hill. David is survived by many friends and his little buddy Tody. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 PM Tuesday October 19 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Preacher Kacie Moore Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Dr. Richard W.
